Can I really find a leopard just by listening?
Often, yes — indirectly. You rarely pinpoint a leopard from a single call, but a chorus of baboons barking from the trees, backed up by snorting impala and staring giraffe, gives a guide a very strong idea of where a cat is hiding. How do I tell a genuine predator alarm from ordinary noise?
