Who we are
About SafariLingo
SafariLingo is an independent, offline-first wildlife field guide and safari planning resource. It began after a 2025 Serengeti trip exposed a simple problem: names, calls and reliable context are hardest to retrieve when the signal disappears.
Built around the field experience
The product is designed for the moment a sighting happens: offline species profiles, animal calls, photo and GPS-based sighting records, and nine languages. Our website extends that same job with planning guides and a searchable wildlife reference.
Editorial standards
- We separate observed product capabilities from travel or wildlife guidance.
- We prioritize primary and specialist sources, including the IUCN Red List, official park and government information, recognized field guides and peer-reviewed research.
- We show publication dates, contributor bylines when applicable, and references on guide pages.
- We do not present changing entry, health, price or conservation information as a substitute for the responsible authority.
- We correct material errors and update affected pages when reliable new evidence is available.
Core source types
Wildlife pages use taxonomic and conservation references; destination pages favor official park, tourism and government sources; health guidance points readers to qualified clinicians and public-health authorities. References attached to each guide are a starting point, not a claim that every source is current forever.
What our content cannot do
Safari conditions, wildlife movements, fees, borders and health requirements change. SafariLingo is educational and practical, but it is not medical, legal or personalized travel advice. Confirm critical decisions with local authorities, your operator and a qualified health professional.
