Editorial Policy
This policy describes the working standards used for SafariLingo editorial content.
Source priority
We prioritize official park and protected-area authorities, conservation organizations, the IUCN Red List, and peer-reviewed research. Reputable institutional and specialist sources may be used for context when primary sources do not address a topic.
Fact checking
Species names, taxonomy, conservation status, ranges, park facts, dates, and practical claims are checked against the most relevant available sources. Claims are not presented as certain when the evidence is variable, local, or time-sensitive.
Translation and localization
Content is translated across nine supported languages and localized for clarity. Translations are checked against the source meaning, scientific names are retained where useful, and reported issues are corrected. A translation does not create a new factual source.
Dates and updates
A published or updated date is shown only when the page has that data. We update content when source information changes or a verified correction is needed; an update date does not imply a complete review of every statement on that date.
Wildlife and migration uncertainty
Animal sightings, migration timing, weather, road conditions, and park access are not guaranteed. They vary with season, climate, animal movement, and local management. Confirm current conditions with parks, authorities, and qualified local operators.
Conflicts of interest
Commercial relationships, supplied access, or other material interests should be disclosed where they could affect editorial judgment. Such interests do not guarantee coverage or a favorable conclusion.
Corrections
Send a correction with the page URL, the statement in question, and a reliable supporting source. We assess the evidence, amend confirmed errors, and update the page date when the change is material.
User contributions
Accepted user submissions are clearly attributed to the contributor. First-hand accounts are identified as personal experience and are checked for factual claims before publication; submission does not guarantee publication.
