Welcome to Safari Lingo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Safari Lingo website (safarilingo.com), mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Safari Lingo is a comprehensive safari animal encyclopedia that provides:

  • Detailed information about 265 safari animals
  • Multilingual support in 9 languages
  • Animal sighting recording and tracking features
  • Offline access to animal data and information
  • Educational content about wildlife conservation
  • Photography and observation tips

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time without prior notice.

3. User Accounts and Registration

Some features of Safari Lingo may require you to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we suspect any unauthorized or fraudulent activity.

4. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

When using Safari Lingo, you agree not to:

5. User-Generated Content

Safari Lingo allows you to create, upload, and share content such as animal sighting records, photos, and notes ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

  • Retain ownership of your User Content
  • Grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your User Content for the purpose of providing and improving the Services
  • Represent that you have all necessary rights to the User Content
  • Agree that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, at our sole discretion.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, features, and functionality of Safari Lingo, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, animal data, software, and design, are owned by Safari Lingo or our licensors and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not include any right to:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content
  • Use our content for commercial purposes
  • Remove or modify any proprietary notices

7. Offline Functionality and Data Storage

Safari Lingo is designed to work 100% offline. Animal data and your personal sighting records are stored locally on your device. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining adequate storage space on your device
  • Creating backups of your data if desired
  • Understanding that uninstalling the app or clearing device storage may result in permanent data loss

We are not responsible for any loss of data stored locally on your device.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

Safari Lingo may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources. These links are provided for your convenience only. We do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services.

Your use of third-party websites and services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
  • Warranties that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAFARI LINGO AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, data, or use
  • Business interruption
  • Personal injury or property damage
  • Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Services

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to liability.

Safari Lingo is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses that may occur during wildlife observation activities.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause or notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

You may discontinue use of the Services at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease, but provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
